College Freshman Campaign ~ 2009

Tim began the Skyhawks 2009 fall football camp in the number five spot. Before camp was over he was tied for the number one spot with the team's returning sophomore quarterback. Going into the first preseason game against Oklahoma Panhandle State then Head Coach Ed Rifilato decided to split the QB duties so he could evaluate who gave the team the best chance of winning.

In the season opener the Skyhawks were trailing 13-10 going into the fourth quarter when Tim went into the game and led FLC to a pair of fourth-quarter touchdown drives to win the game 23-13. In a radio interview before the second game of the year Coach Rifilato said he would decide who would be the starter based on the simple fact of "whoever is better". In the second game of the season against Abilene Christian Coach Rifilato turned the quarterback duties over to Tim and he was named a team captain.

Tim ended his freshman season with a solid win over Western New Mexico 40-21 going 35 for 59 with 323 yards, throwing for three touchdowns and rushing for one. Tim threw for 2,347 yards in his freshman season, led the team in rushing and had 15 touchdowns. Tim was named the 2009 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Co-Freshman of the Year.
